I forgot to mention that we did not have class this week, due to technical difficulties.

I'll try to post something on one of the things we learned last class, for practice, this week some time.

Aside from reviewing old material, we also learned how to tell amounts of money:

Do:h nigano:ö’? How much does it cost?
Dza:dak niwashë:h wis niga:wisda:ge:h washë:h niga:gënishä:ge:h nigano:ö’. It costs $75.10.
(niga:wisda:ge:h - dollars, niga:gënishä:ge:h - cents)

Unfortunately, due to several factors, I haven't attended class in a few weeks. :( But I've hardly dropped the class, or given up on learning the language.

The teacher and one of the other students have been creating flash cards on quizlet, so I've started reviewing those. It's nice too, because they have audio on them too. Not that I find Seneca all that difficult to pronounce, but it's still a nice thing to have. Native speakers and such.

I'll post this here for others to check out just as much as for a bookmark for myself:

I'll be attending class this coming Monday for sure! Hell or high water!

Tonight's class was mostly review because we have some new students, so there really isn't much to add this week.

Unfortunately, my teacher has some schedule conflicts this week and next, so class won't be until June 4th.

I want to try my hand at writing up a dialogue or two, or maybe a short story in the meantime. (Given the vocabulary we know so far, dialogue is more likely, honestly.)

Today there were some odd connection issues or something. Feedback was definitely an issue. But we powered through and made the best of it. I was also getting connection issues, but those should be resolved shortly (hopefully).

As for what we learned, it was some review, and then some work on the habitual form of the verb -ajä’dahgwa’ (to use something).

gajä’dahgwa’ - I use it (habitually)
sajä’dahgwa’ - you
hajä’dahgwa’ - he
jä’dahgwa’ - she
wajä’dahgwa’ - it
hnyajä’dahgwa’ - you and I
agyajä’dahgwa’ - someone and I
snyajä’dahgwa’ - you two
yajä’dahgwa’ - two males
gyajä’dahgwa’ - two females
dwajä’dahgwa’ - you all and I
agwajä’dahgwa’ - they and I
swajä’dahgwa’ - you all
hënöjä’dahgwa’ - 3+ males or mixed group
wënöjä’dahgwa’ - 3+ females

So, I asked my teacher a question about word order in Seneca, and I'm pleased to find out it is very different from English. :P

It's VOS typically, so:
Hajä'dahgwa' neh ojike'da' hage'nih.
My father (hage'nih) uses [hab.] (hajä'dahgwa') the (neh) salt (ojike'da).

And, to further complicate things:
Hajä'dahgwa' neh ojike'da jawë'öh hage'nih.
My father always (jawë'öh) uses the salt.

So, I kept getting kicked off the video conference this evening. Every 5 minutes (if even!) things would freeze and a minute later I'd get kicked off. I'm hoping this is just a temporary issue.

Regardless, this class was a wash. :(
