I have three cats. I like cats.

Náhteʔ se·káhse̲ʔ.
What do you like to eat?

Not sure if I needed the "khenáskwayʌ" in my first sentence, but I stuck it in anyway.

Whoops, wrong thread. That was an AAL I used before, not NAIL. No-one noticed, right? :notme:

Mílahaƞska Tȟamákȟočhe emátaƞhaƞ.
I’m from America. (Sadly it’s hard to find state names in most NAILs. I’m a native New Yorker.)

Maǧážu waštéyalaka he.
Do you like the rain?

Yes, I know I keep asking about the weather. Plus in most of my posts today I’ve used the verb "waštélakA." Don’t feel bad ceid donn, I don’t remember how many lessons into Lakota I was, but by now it’d probably be 1 or 2. I need to get back to those textbooks for Lakota. :(

EDIT: Fixed my verb form in the question there. I though it was suspicious to have 'ya' (you) at the end.

Yitsiili agwatseli sogwili adladidla, alehno osdineli utseli ford taurus.
I either drive my pickup, or I drive my wife's Ford Taurus
(If I say this at a normal speed, Ford Taurus comes out sounding like, hwod towvs).

Gado usd auto hyiili?
What kind of vehicle do you drive?

After learning the word for "horse", I began using it for pickup. Soguili = Carries burdens (Though, I've never seen an explanation for the translation, I still use it). So I normally either call a pickup sogwili, or sogwili adladidla, or some other words with sogwili.

sogwili = Horse
adladidla = Goes on rubber coverings. (adla = Rubber, didla ?= towards).

You say "’Ahéhéshį̨́į́h hahoodzodę́ę́’ naashá."

The one said is completely wrong.

Though, of course, there are other variations of how to say but for beginners this is the best and simplest form.

Yá'át'ééh. Ahéhee'. I'm so glad to see a native speaker here! I am not surprised I got this wrong. I wasn't sure how to say where I'm from originally. I currently live in West Texas, but originally I'm from California. I thought "naashá" needed to be used to say where you were presently living.

If I learn one phrase today it'll be this:

Aapiji gisinaamagad agwajiing noongom!

Because it's especially applicable in Northwestern Wisconsin today. :-/
