Hey, I'm still around, dEhiN!

Irusia wrote:Where can I find information on Proto-Inuit and Proto-Eskimo-Aleut?

Hmmmmm....
I know that Knut Bersland and a few others produced some papers/monographs on comparative Eskimo-Aleut. Maybe there's something there about older forms of the language(s). I'll take a look through the ANLA.

EDIT: Yeah, there are some papers in the ANLA database that deal with Proto-Eskimo-Aleut, Proto-Eskimo, and Proto-Yupik.
I have the link in to the ANLA in the Learning Resources, but I'll reproduce it here:
https://www.uaf.edu/anla/collections/search/
Search under "comparative Eskimo-Aleut" and you can go from there.

6 more days until the end of the Powwow! I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who participated, expressed interest in participating, and for everyone who read our threads! :D

I hope everyone had (and continues to have fun until the end of February)!
I have a feeling the Powwow will be back (at it's regularly scheduled time) later this year!

Considering that November is Native American Heritage Month in the U.S. (which is how this all got started), it usually runs from November 1st to January 31st. It got throw off this time because of my lack of planning. I didn't want to wait a year to put it on. :P

If we wanted to do it sooner, I'd be up for finding some other date range of cultural significance.

I'm contemplating making the Multi-Lingual thread a Person Below Me Game. Or do you guys want it to be an Answer-Ask game (which is basically what it is, but I'd change the name :P )?

I think Answer-Ask game is better, because:

1. I'm not sure how to say "the person below me" in Greenlandic. I think I can just use "you" in an Answer-Ask game.

2. Answer-Ask game is a good way to practice the interogative mood if the language you learn has it. Greenlandic has it, for example.

That's my thought ask well. The person below me game is not as flexible, IMO.

I think I could formulate a phrase or two that translates into "the person below me", but I'm not sure if it's sound grammatically. Problem is, that may not be the case with other NAILs.

I'll change the name, but if anyone still wants to give their insight, please do. It's easy enough to change.

Anyone want to keep their Powwow thread?

I'll compact them into an archive thread one week from today (3/9, local time). Maybe a bit later if I forget. lol You have until then to tell me you want to keep them, ok? :)
