I was thinking Seneca!

EDIT: But seriously, are there any textbooks for Micmac?

As much as I love Seneca (and Iroquoian in general), it can be anything.

I know you were thinking Seneca. But it's like this Calvin and Hobbes strip.

We could do an Iroquoian study group.

And, although I don't remember that specific episode, that brings back memories. I used to read the shit out of Calvin and Hobbes when I was a kid. Garfield too.

We could also do an Algonquian study group. I'm sure at least Koko and probably Massimiliano would be interested. (Once they come back, that is. If they do :para:).

I used to read Garfield all the time because my brother loved it for some reason. (It might've helped that it came on TV and he hated reading).

Whatever that says.

EDIT: This is a serious invitation to start up a Seneca or general Iroquoian study group by the way. :)

I'm still here :)
I'm currently studying Adyghe, so I don't know if I have time for a NAIL at the moment.

It's good to know you're still around, Mass. :)

And Vijay, I would think about an Algonquin study group if I could find something I liked the look of for Abenaki or Odawa/Ojibwe. Any leads?

EDIT: Unless you'd want to do Cheyenne or Arapaho.

Oooo, or Salishan! Or Siouan!

So is mine, to start an Algonquian/Algic one! If we can have both, then I can try joining yours. :)

Those are both Algonquian! You can do one or both of those while I do Lnuismk and Cree (via Michif)!

Uh, it's Spanish, so yeah. I don't get the meme to begin with. You know. Cause it's in Spanish.....

So, you'll only join mine if I join yours?

I think the idea for a study group is to do the same language (and preferably resource). :P

It means "why not both?"

No. I was just saying I'll try joining yours if I'm allowed to start an Algic one, too. :)

You can start whatever you want. I'm just not joining an Algic one yet myself.

For NAILs, it probably is better to paint with a wide brush, huh?

I'm just generally in favor of painting with both wider and thinner brushes at the same time. This goes both for language-study groups and for literal painting. :P (Or at least some kinds of literal painting. At least, I think that's how I feel about painting :silly:).

I can still try doing Seneca with you (where "doing Seneca" is roughly equivalent to me "doing Hokkien" - not really seriously studying it, but still doing something to help you study it and probably passively learning stuff in the process :)).

This sachem makes too many demands. I propose a re-evaluation of his position within the Iroquois Confederacy. I may have to bring this up with the clan mothers.
