I was very unsure whether to open this thread because I already know I won't have much time for languages in the year to come and also because sometimes I find it hard to stick with the target languages that I choose, but well... after all, who cares...
So, for the next year, I'd like to take up the following languages: Dutch,
Hebrew German

and Japanese.
My goal for Dutch and
Hebrew German

is to reach a level where I can be a tourist without having to resort to English, whereas for Japanese, I won't even bother setting real goals for this year I guess... I'd be content if I got a good grasp of the very bases of this language, although, the long-term goal is to be able to get by in Japan as a tourist too (and since I doubt I'll be traveling to Japan any time soon, I'm not in a hurry).
I'd also like to try and do one language at a time, so my intention is study Dutch for the first four months of the year, then pass on to
Hebrew German

for the next four months, and finally Japanese.
In the meantime, I'll also try and do a bit of reading in several Romance languages (Portuguese, French, Spanish, Catalan, Ladin) in order to retain my knowledge of them and possibly expand my vocabulary.
Well I guess that's all for now.
