Notes:
I ended up hanging out with my one cousin a bit more than I anticipated, and then I've had this cold for the weekend. Plus I'm writing my thesis, so I guess I'm not that worried about the lack of progress. :P

I'm not sure if I want to continue with Arrernte and Cheyenne or not. I haven't touched either in a week or two. But eh, the fun languages where always meant to be flexible and shit anyway.

I'm sure I'll have questions before I post my "parsing" of the Japanese text.

I got the Hebrew parsed, I'm just working on a different way to post it. It's bit of a pain in the ass to use the table function on the forum with Hebrew. I think I might start embedding pdfs in my posts or something.

Well, my cold stick with me for a good week. In fact, my throat still has a little soreness in the mornings up to today! So, I did shit lot of nothing......

I'm getting back into the swing of things this week though.

At this point I'll probably wait until Sunday to write new(ish?) goals.

As I said in the BTG game thread, I have a few things going on this week. Most importantly, my thesis, which was delayed because of my cold as well. So.....you know.....

エー?? Something happened? :hmm:

That reminds me that the title of one of Bollywood's most famous movies, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, just means 'something happens'. :silly:

At Vijay's meddling, I've decided to post new goals:

Goals For 12/06 Through 12/16
    Japanese
  • Parse the first paragraph of 「アメリカザリガニ」 by さくらももこ
  • Review Lessons 4-6 in 「みんなの日本語初級1」 by 3-A
  • Put sentences into Anki from Lessons 4-6 in 「みんなの日本語初級1」 by 3-A

    Hebrew
  • Parse Ex 3:7-9
  • Put sentences/phrases in Anki from Lessons 5-10 in Biblical Hebrew by Kittel, et al.
  • Review Lessons 5-10 in Biblical Hebrew by Kittel, et al.
  • Complete Lessons 8-13 in Assimil Hebrew by Shifra Jacquet-Svironi, et al.

    Irish
  • Parse An Chearc
  • Put sentences into Anki from Lessons 4-6 in Teach Yourself Irish by Dillon & Ó Cróinín
  • Review Lessons 4-6 in Teach Yourself Irish by Dillon & Ó Cróinín

    Seneca
  • Conversational Seneca Course
  • Complete Lessons 3 & 4 in Seneca Language Supplement

Notes:
-Keen observers (and I'm sure less keen ones too :P ) will notice the "Fun" section is gone. No buddy got time fo' dat.
Or at least I don't at the moment. My thesis is due (in rough draft form) by the end of the month, so priorities and such. I hope to do some "fun" languages again in a month or two though. We shall see. For now it's all business and no play.

-Because this week and next are heavy writing weeks for my thesis, I'm going to make a 2-ish week goal (really week-and-a-half, but who's counting? dEhiN, maybe? ). After these two weeks are done, I'm hoping to only have the conclusion and introduction to write, so it'll be easier. Anyway, I'm going easy on my goals, and going to try to keep up on Anki as best as I can. (Since I was sick last week and didn't get shit done, these are all last "week's" goals anyway. )

Actually, truth be told, I gloss over your goals. I do read your notes (hence my currently reply!), but your specific goals I tend to skip over. So I missed the fact that they are a 2-ish week goal.*

*So grammatically, that should be incongruent, right - using the plural pronoun + verb form with a singular article + noun? But why does it sound more natural to me than something like "...that it's a 2-week goal"? Linguistically, how would you explain this?

Encountering this expression makes me wonder how widespread the expression "as well" is and how it spread. English, Irish, and Ibero-Romance (e.g. Spanish también) all seem to have it, but who (if anyone) else? Did Irish calque it off of English or something?

Much more limited in use, but does German "genauso gut" fit in there?
