I dunno why i didn't think of this, but i could use that Swampy Cree online course to learn the grammar and shit. And then just use a Plains dictionary to figure out if an n is th in Woods.... a year of intermittently trying to teach myself Cree and i just realize that.

YES! I haven't looked at the site too much, but i do plan to use it. There's a lot of nice texts i found, and most have audio which is extremely helpful (but i found it a little hard to follow along when i was checking it out because i have no idea of the prosody and pausa).

Hmmmm looking at those lessons it seems the î- preverb is used in questions of the present tense, while kâ- is used in questions of the past and future tenses. For asking about future events, it seems just a future preverb and the conjunct form are enough tho.
