I absolutely agree. Maybe not “inevitable”, but it makes it easier to get more out of less material and push out of the C1 plateau without making studying that language your full-time job.

I’ve realised that I managed to get to C2 in Spanish and Catalan because all of my classes were in those languages for three years and I spent hours on extensive reading (on forums mostly) every day. Whereas in Poland my classes were mostly in English and I didn’t find as much stuff I wanted to read in Polish until towards the end of my stay. So I’ve definitely seen huge improvements using Anki for Serbian and Polish.

I doubt that Eskandar will read this but we will miss you, Eskandar!

Seconded
I will return to Arabic after I finish İnce Memed. My focus has shifted to MSA (partly because there are no Syrians who I can talk to here in Antalya) and I want to do just reading for a while.

Hopefully in that amount of time, I'll catch up to you in قصص النبيين.

Yes, I got my bachelor’s degree at the University of Barcelona.

I don't have much time these days for reading -- super busy with work again, also working on weekends -- but I go to the beach every day before work and take the book with me, and read a few pages, so I am slowingly advancing. I am at page 103/436.

Last two weeks were very intensive, I just worked and slept. Luckily, I am on a 2-week vacation since today! My parents are coming tomorrow to visit me here in Antalya.

I've been thinking recently about ordering a couple of books for Egyptian (the Kallimni series maybe?) and indulging into them for a while. :ohwell:
