tl;dr Mostly just random thoughts about what to learn next
Oh, how could I forget to mention that LangMedia is useful for Urdu?! And to some extent also Hindi.
I need to review my Krio...but tomorrow (Thursday), I'm going to have to go take a test, which I have to pass (and probably will pass!) in order to get my last job back. Dammit, can't I just get people to pay me as a language consultant or something? Why life hard why get job hard why life why
Anyway! I've been thinking about making Nicaraguan Sign Language/ISN my next language to add to my list! Finding resources sure is a pain, but hey, that doesn't stop me from learning some of my other languages, right?!
So that way, I'll have two sign languages (both indigenous to the Americas!), two Semitic languages, two English-based creoles, two Austronesian languages, two "Papuan" languages, two Central American indigenous languages (from different families), two mixed languages (Michif and Light Warlpiri), one Dravidian language, one Sino-Tibetan language, one Turkic language, one Nilo-Saharan/Nilotic/whatever language, one Bantu language, one Tai-Kadai language, one Algonquian language, and eight (or nine, if you count English) Indo-European languages (four Italic of which three are Romance, one Germanic (excluding English), two Slavic, and one Indo-Aryan)!
Ooh, I wonder whether I could add another Nilo-Saharan language, too!
Actually, maybe Khoekhoe would be more challenging than any of these. It could be really interesting, too, learning to produce all those clicks...
Omg, I'm so conflicted now. Maybe I should just do another NAIL! Like Cayuga!
Or Navajo, or Tlingit. And I wonder whether I still have access to my materials for Tlingit. Or I could do Nicaraguan Sign Language and
another NAIL. Oh, and Beginning Tlingit
is right here
! And there's stuff like this
, too. Or oh, I could do Chinook Jargon and then Tlingit, or something like that.
Actually, you know what? Starting Ternate would probably be the hardest thing I could do next, probably even harder than starting another sign language. Or I could do both and delay Chinook Jargon!
