Multilingual Translation Game

Postby IpseDixit » 2014-05-20, 16:33

1) I'll start off by giving a sentence in English.
2) You must translate it in any language you want and in how many languages you want.
3) You give a new English sentence that will have to be translated by the next person.

Wait, Onomatopœia has the exact same spelling and plural form in Dutch?

Nope, apparently I was wrong.
Onomatopoeia in Dutch is either klanknabootsing or onomatopee. I'm not really familiar with the word, so I assumed that it was the same in English too, haha.

[flag=]eo[/flag]Mi opinias ke ViVidil' estas tre pli bona ol Spektil'.
(ViVidil' is not the official name in Esperanto, as there is no way as of yet to view YouTube in Esperanto, but all proper nouns in Esperanto must be transcribed or translated, and JuŭTub' just doesn't have the same effect.)

The person after me is...wait, wrong game. :silly:

I think that rhetoric is one of the greatest threats to democracy nowadays. Too often people rote slogans instead of really thinking on their own.
