Could be. If it was talked about on here at all, I must have missed it. I don't get out of the language specific forums very much. I know that I don't see any gender marked in their profile.

Ultimately it's up to Multiturquoise to confirm it one way or another, if they want to.

The Irish expression is literally something like "Don't estimate your ability below its value". There are other nouns you could use here as well, including acmhainn, and other ways to phrase this. I'm not sure what you were trying to say with *leathcosnamh, but remember that prefixes lenite, i.e. leathchosnamh "lopsided defence; partial protection".

I was attempting to say "half-cost". I thought, based on what I saw in MCD that it also had the meaning of "cost." I probably still got it wrong though. :P

Needless to say, that was a hard translation for me.

I think the best way to translate this kind of with phrase is with an Irish agus phrase, i.e. "agus ardmharcanna a leithéid agat". I'm not sure what "dleathacha" is doing there. "Should" is expressed by means of the copula and cóir/ceart, i.e. "Ba chóir/cheart duit machnamh a dhéanamh ar (dul ar) ollscoil". (Since Dormouse is a NAE-speaker, I'm assuming that "college" here really means "university".) Oh, and ar never causes eclipsis; you may be confusing it with ár "our".
