Well, I always think, if you're going to make a Latin text more readable, why half-ass it? ;)

Because macrons don't make the text more readable.

It does if you want to pronounce the words correctly.

Let's agree to disagree, because we will never have the same opinion on this. It's not the first time it came up.

Yeah, unfortunately, browsers don't recognize <·> as punctuation but as a letter, so you either do that or you divide the sentences manually pressing Enter. Maybe it's an influence of Catalan orthography? (They don't allow to split words with <l·l> right between the <l>s, or do they?)
Hildakojon wrote:It does if you want to pronounce the words correctly.
Depends on what your understanding of "correctly" is. Reading most Latin from the 1st century AD to the 20th century as if it were 1st century BC Latin tends to be a terrible anachronism. :P

Reminders have been sent to both Hildakojon and Remis to have the text completed. If they don't reply within 2 days to at least give a time frame, I will arrange for someone else to take over their translations.

I'm really sorry, but I don't think I can do it. I shouldn't have signed up in the first place. :P I haven't been mentally sound recently.

I haven't translated anything longer than one sentence from Latin for the past seven years, I'm not going to try that. Hashi, can you think of someone who might be able to?

Ask for help if you need it. It's not a very long text and all you should need for this is a dictionary and knowledge of basic grammar structures.

Not many people here can translate Latin as far as I'm aware. I'm not worried if your Latin isn't perfect as it'd be a translation from Latin as opposed to into.

This is true. You can't even give it a shot into English? If you can just translate to English, I can arrange someone else to translate into German for melan. (German speakers aren't as hard to come by as Latin).

If I was at home, with my grammar book and dictionary at my side and plenty of time, I would be prepared to try it. As it is now, no. So, Hildakojon, you will have to do it.

That would mean you spend all that time translating it into Latin for nothing. And it would make the chain at lot less interesting language-wise.

Yep, you're right. But I offer it as a possibility if everything else isn't possible.
