BTG Archives

Postby hashi » 2009-10-14, 22:31

I was bored and decided to pull up all the old broken translation games and put them into an archive-y type thing.

You can have a look here:

EDIT:
The new site is up here:
http://btg.langwiki.info/

Here's an example of the filtering system showing the backwards text from the FuBAR BTG 3. Enjoy :)

It's quite interesting to read through the old ones, my personal favourites are 11 and 6.

The Oral Broken Translation game can still be added  I already added the finished translations to the topic, so you can just fetch them right now :) Even though it was oral, the written part was still its core.

I don't have time to read through them right now, but thanks for making the archive! I'll look forward to reading through them tonight!

Yeah I know, I just hadn't quite got around to that one. Is the mp3 still available? 'Cause it could be valuable to upload those too.

Any non-latin scripts aren't formatted properly for me.

In any case, great job Jayden. These should be a very intresting read. :P

Hmm... I thought they wouldn't work, so I didn't post them, but it seems like they do!

These three didn't work. The first two just kept redirecting to the same page, and the second said 404...

Didn't work for me either, but try switching your text encoding to Unicode (UTF-8?). The default encoding for your computer is probably Western ISO Latin or something along those lines (correct me if I'm wrong), and it won't work.

That option is probably under the "view" menu. :)

Such a good idea, I tried to use the search feature to track all the old ones down before I signed up for the current BTG. My favorite is definitely the one with all the toilets bursting into flames, haha. :)

Thank you! I was so annoyed about it and didn't even take a second to think about text encoding, but it was set to Western ISO Latin. It all works in Unicode. :D

When my FTP client will actually work I shall hard code that into the script. I forget my browser is superior to the rests and works out that it's UTF-8 without needing to be told :)

Do you think you could upload them elsewhere for me please? My browser does funky stuff while trying to use that site. Cheers

I hope to keep up-to-date with all the BTG's so the Oral BTG is included in that :)

lol And I just noticed this thread was placed in the General Topics Forum again, instead of the well probably more appropriate General Language Forum—just like broken translation games. :P

Yeah, but this isn't actually about language... it's about the archive per se..

Well, I just found out right now that when I try downloading, my Mozilla crashes... Could someone else do it? Not to scare anybody else off, but I have a good reason for why my Mozilla is crashing: last year a friend of mine deleted something on my computer, and ever since, Mozilla will crash on random pages often connected to downloading.

I tried downloading them but the page just refreshes when I click on "get" (after having clicked on download file and entered the captcha). :?
