Hi everyone

So, a while back I came across a meme with food related swear euphemisms in different languages. Like when you're halfway through the swearword and realize there are children there. It had English, French, Spanish and Russian foods next to the flag, and I know Dutch also has one of those. So I was wondering, which other languages have this?

The way I'm structuring this is as follows:
flag food (food name in english) - actual swear word

fudge (fudge) - fuck
purée (mash(ed potatoes))- pute/putain
ostras (oysters) - hostias
блин (pancakes) - блят
chips* (chips/crisps) - shit

Even though German Quatsch isn't really a swearword (it's closer to rubbish, nonsense), I thought I could add it here as it follows a similar pattern.

Oh, you mean "Quark" is used because it has the same start as "Quatsch"? I never made this connection, because there are other food words used similary where I don't see this pattern, like you can also talk "Käse" (cheese) and things can be "(völlig) Banane" (banana). But maybe they do actually follow a similar pattern and I just never noticed it?

Anyway, I feel non-food euphemisms are more common for the real swear words, but at least "Scheibenhonig" exists.
