Wrong forum: this is the TAC forum.

Anyway, adding Spanish, Latin, Mandarin. If it's of interest, Spanish mañana also means 'morning'. Latin hodie historically meant "this-day" (ho-die). The Mandarin terms mean, literally, "yesterday-day", "today-day" and "clear/bright-day", and besides, the morpheme for "day" also means "sky".

The spoken Munster form has final /v/. I sometimes represent this with the informal respelling inniubh which isn't the best since it still implies /ŋʹ/ when the actual phoneme there is /nʹ/.

I'd be much more interested in this topic if the OP had included "the day before yesterday" and "the day after tomorrow". English is actually somewhat unusual in having such clumsy circumlocutions for those concepts.

I just looked in the glossary of TYI, and indeed it has the pronunciation for inniu as /ɪˈnʹuv/. (Not that I didn't trust you, but rather to see the full pronunciation).

That is actually interesting. Is there a reason for the /v/ at the end? Was that in Old or Middle Irish?

Yeah I considered that but then I decided not to include those because I thought it could be more difficult to find a translation of those for languages with not many resources available which only have limited incomplete dictionaries to consult. We could open a different thread though.
