Old style: no flags and glossonyms in English. Original Spanish at the top.

Spanish: Se fue persiguiendo un sueño, pero despertó antes de alcanzarlo.

English: She went there following a dream, but woke up before reaching it.

Yeah I know her personally. It's a sentence from a text I wrote.

Plusquamperfekt, ich liebe deine Übersetzung, sie klingt so poetisch :D

Polished the Polish

PS. "martwienie" = worrying vs. "marzenie" = dreaming  . In this context it's better to use "sen" though, as there's "obudziła się" following it.

Spanish: Se fue persiguiendo un sueño, pero despertó antes de alcanzarlo.

Dutch: Zij joeg een droom na, maar werd wakker voordat ze hem bereikte.
Frisian: Sy jeie in dream nei, mar waard wekker eardat se him berikke.

Polish: Podążyła tam za swoim snem, lecz obudziła się zanim go dosięgła.

Because pronouns in a Vietnamese sentence would change depending on whom you're talking with, or about. The interrelation between you and that someone, to be precise. Anyway, I got it now, thanks. I'll just assume you're writing a text with a literary leaning.

Something about the English sounds foreign but I can't put my finger on it. I might word it, "She left following a dream, but awoke before she reached it."

Spanish: Se fue persiguiendo un sueño, pero despertó antes de alcanzarlo.

Dutch: Zij joeg een droom na, maar werd wakker voordat ze hem bereikte.
Frisian: Sy jeie in dream nei, mar waard wekker eardat se him berikke.
English: She went there following a dream, but woke up before reaching it.
French: Elle s'en alla pour suivre un rêve, mais elle se réveilla avant de l'atteindre. :?:
German: Sie ging fort, um einem Traum zu folgen, doch sie erwachte, bevor sie ihn einholte.

Then change it. The original is the Spanish one, the English one is a result of my poor English command.

Oh stop :P You don't have a "poor English command". It's a perfectly grammatical and correct utterance. Being able to make things that sound 100% natural is sometimes difficult, especially when you don't live in the target country.

Oh, I sounded too agressive, but I just meant that it's ok to change my sentence for a more natural one.
(thanks for the encouragement, it gets sometimes specially frustrating with English)

loqu, dream is a tricky word to translate since it can mean both 'images and sensations you experience during sleep' or 'hopes, aspirations', which one did you have in mind?
Added Italian, Russian and Serbian.

Damn, I hadn't thought of that possibility. So that the pun with "waking up" still works, I'd go for the "images during sleep" thing, even though we have to lose the nuance of "hopes, aspirations".
