Maybe the text in English should be written with runes then.

Good idea, except that since the time of runes, the language has changed so much that perhaps it can no longer be represented with conventional runes.

Runes? Come on, we're talking about living languages!
Other Germanic languages also used runes... Funnily enough, not even my great-grandparents' generation remembers how to read and write them.

And I have a question for Mr DFLSI: Why did you explicitly ignore my corrections? Please tell me what's wrong about them. Just re-posting your list doesn't convince me of my (potential) error. :?

I think it would be in the 1500s that runes were still used in England, and much before that in continental Europe (excluding Scandinavia, I think?)

And I'm pretty sure not everybody was literate.

And I have a question for Mr DFLSI: Why did you explicitly ignore my corrections?

Oops! I was looking for corrections in different peoples' posts, but since I wasn't expecting the kind of corrections you suggested there, I only compared the two Cyrillic versions, which seemed to be the same. I didn't actually read your post... Sorry!

Please tell me what's wrong about them.

I guess it is a better idea to use a j for that sound, it just doesn't give well to one-to-one transliteration systems. So yes, that's good.

Just re-posting your list doesn't convince me of my (potential) error. :?

Hehe... I wasn't just reposting my list, I added the correct Syllabics for the Cree version, as well as *trying* to add the chu nom for the Vietnamese. (I wasn't able to find one of the characters, and I'm not 100% sure if they're all right, but I think they are)

I don't remember for sure, but I think I also added some linguistic corrections that people had suggested. But maybe not?

It sounds better to say in Basque "Ez dut euskaraz mintzatzen" which means I don't speak in Basque.

The list already looks quite long! It would indeed be a nice idea to publish it in the Free Language Resources section!

I've added Marathi and Konkani. Also changed Hindi which was male and female speaker to something which both can say and sounds better too. :D
