Pretty sure it's Arabic but what do they say?

It's either Indonesian or something closely related to it.

I'm surprised I didn't recognise it, given that I've dabbled in Malay before... then again, I did study the Malaysian variant and didn't really spend that much time on it overall. Thanks!

It's not Arabic. It's an attempt at Tibetan "Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow." I don't know if it's correct, or how legible it is, but that's what they were trying for.

Does anyone recognize the phrase "Dosei Parete"? The context given is "recycling" or "rebirth", but I'm not sure where this would come from.

Help with Identifying Symbols

Postby martyp16 » 2020-11-28, 21:38

I can across this on a reddit puzzle but I have no clue where these symbols come from.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as hours of searching have not turned up anything.

I don't know reddit puzzle rules, but isn't posting here cheating?

Is it a game where the poster actually knows the answer and is just trying to get others to guess, or is it something like r/translator where they're genuinely asking for help deciphering what's written?

Also, some people come here, post a single post, don't introduce themselves, and never come back.

I thought my suggestion for fighting spammers by only allowing people to post on the introductions thread until a mod sees had been accepted. :hmm:

I don't think I would go so far as to call an ordinary post in this thread spamming.

There were some cases I also didn't consider spam and someone pointed that the signature had a link. Even if this person is not a spammer, I would like to new members proved first they're not spammers.

Also say hi to people here before asking for help, we're not robots for identifying languages.

Sometimes they actually add the link in their signature after they start posting.
Even if this person is not a spammer, I would like to new members proved first they're not spammers.

How is that even possible?
Also say hi to people here before asking for help, we're not robots for identifying languages.

This would be polite, but I think to make this mandatory would be pretty absurdly cruel. :?

I don't think we are talking about the same thing, several forums have this as a norm/standard/rule.
