(en) precipitation - (meteorology) forms of water that fall from the atmosphere; rain, snow, hail, etc.
(fr) précipitation - haste, rush

These are false friends created by a difference in emphasis. Both words have both meanings I've given, but the "haste" meaning is rare in English, while French tends to put précipitation in the plural when the weather meaning is intended.

German (de) ein – one
Welsh (cy) ein – our

Image
If you know German but not (or very little) Welsh, it's easy to mistranslate the above as "One Wales, One Future".

I don't know what Saim had in mind, but when I first learned célibataire, I remembered it because of the loose resemblance to "celebratory".

I was thinking more "celibate-er" i.e. one who is celibate. The immediate connotation of "celibate" to me is someone who abstains from sexual activity (which would be a false friend aince that's not what "single" implies), though apparently it can also mean "unmarried", which is much closer to "single".
