I can't remember a time when I didn't do this, even as a kid. Because of NAFTA, a lot of products had trilingual labeling, so I liked trying to figure out what they said, even if the result was nonsense. When you read multilingual manuals and infos even when you're on the toilet and even if the manual's pertaining to panty liners.

I have a lot of language nerd friends, but they're not as hardcore as most Unilangers. They'd be happy with French, Spanish, German and Japanese and wouldn't get why anyone would want to learn, say, Urdu. I only wish I had a friend who was knowledgeable about more obscure languages.Meera wrote:When you and your language nerd freind have all day discussions about which language to learn.
How about every time I listen to the radio? Or browse Wikipedia? When you can't stop flipping through your international radio section on itunes because you can't decide which language you want to listen too.
