UL Germanic Café

Postby Æxylis » 2009-02-05, 18:40

I tried a topic about germanic languages in general before, but it never caught on... apparently the idea of simply replying in a group of languages seems to work better, so following the idea of the romance cafe, I figured there should be a germanic cafe and a slavic cafe... so here they are...

Totally.

Is it cheating to write in English in here?

Technically it's not cheating to write in English, but I suppose I(maybe even we) would prefer if you at least attempt to use words of a more germanic origin (excluding this definition of course)

"But I shall try to write in Swedish or German, if I can."

Da må du øve!/Då måste du öva!

"Then you must practice!"

Ja, det ville vært vanskelig å gjøre.

"Yes, that would be hard to do."

Jag vet inte vad öva är så det hjaelper mig inte mycket.

I think I shall speak only in English.

And try to keep the words very Anglo-Saxon.

Good enough?

I hope I've done that very well.

I think I have.

No?

*looks for... erm... French words*

Nope, not there. :D

Screw that, I'd waste hours finding all of the French words and finding Germanic replacements. :P

Yay! (Jej? Jäj?) Ich schreibe gern auf Deutsch. Deutsch > alle Sprachen. Es ist richtig.

Sei's drum, ich höre Coldplay, wer hört gern Coldplay? (Hören ist mein Favorit deutsch Verb).

Welcher germanisch Sprache hast du gern? Ich habe gern Deutsch und Norvegisch.
