Hi! It was quite good. :)
I also put the Romanian translation so you can get used to it, I hope it helps.

Salut! A fost destul de bine. :)
Am și pus traducerea în română ca să te obișnuiești, sper că te ajută.

Mulțumesc! I don't understand when I must use the vocal and consonantic change (I mean s -> ș or st -> șt or ă -> e and so on). I've got a grammar book and I study Romanian on it, but it doesn't explain these changes from the singular to the plural very well. :hmm: I'm a little bit confused.

It doesn't explain it very well because there's no concrete explanation.
Romanian plurals are kind of irregular and that's about it, you will just have to get used to them.
But after a while after some practice you'll know them by heart.
Don't worry, even some Romanians don't get them right all the time. :silly:

Of course. Just show me those sentences.

Sigur că da. Doar să-mi arăți acele propoziții.

No, I meant the sentence (not complete) that I made here, but you put the translation after I could ask you to correct me. Don't worry, I was wrong :/

Sorry if I'm annoying, I have to translate this sentence that a romanian friend sent to me to challenge me and to improve my romanian :) :

Somn uşor, vise plăcute si puricii să te sărute.

I understand that "somn uşor" are "sweet dreams", aren't it? I can't translate the rest of the sentence... :hmm:

It's better to translate it literally:

Somn uşor = easy sleeping
vise plăcute = pleasant dreams
si puricii să te sărute = and the fleas may kiss you

It's the long way of saying "Sweet dreams".

It's not annoying at all, you can ask as much as you wish. 8-)

Ok, thanks. So if I'm not annoying I'll ask you another thing :ohwell:
However, help me when you have time ;) I translate these sentences in Romanian but I always confuse all the nominative/accusative forms, I think I've made a lot of mistakes:

Marco este un prieten meu. El este un student şi un atlet. Acum el studiază în camerele. Pe măsa sunt nişte foi şi cărţi. Cărţile pe măsa sunt de studierea.

Mark is a friend of mine. He's a student and a sportsman. Now he's studying in the room and he's learning. On the table there are papers and books. The books on the table are study books.

~jakip wrote:Marco este un prieten de al meu. El este un student şi un atlet. Acum el studiază în cameră. Pe masă sunt nişte foi şi cărţi. Cărţile de pe masă sunt de studiu.

prietenul meu = my friend (m.)
prietena mea = my friend (f.)
un prieten de al meu = a friend of mine (m.)
o prietenă de a mea = a friend of mine (f.)

în cameră = in the room
în camera mea = in my room
în camera aceea = in that room
în camera mare = in the big room

In the first case the noun does not have a definite article because of the preposition în.
In the other cases they have the article because of the other words linked to them.

În primul caz substantivul nu are un articol definit din cauza prepoziției în.
În celelalte cazuri ele au un articol din cauza celorlalte cuvinte legate de ele.

Thanks! I've tried to finish all the paragraph. :)
Mulţumesc! Am încercat a termina tot paragrafele. :)

Masa este un birou. Tata şi ţâţa de al prieten meu nu sunt în cameră. Acum ei lucrând*. Tata este o lucreătoare, el lucrează în hotel. Ţâţa sa învaţă. Ea este o profesoară.

The table is a desk. His father and his mother aren't in the room. In this moment they're working. The father is a worker, he works in a hotel. His mother teaches. She's a teacher.

*Has the gerunziu the verb like "stare" in italian or like the verb "to be" in english before it to express an event that is happening now?

Am încercat a termina e corect gramatical,
dar aproapre toată lumea ar spune am încercat să termin, folosind conjunctivul la a termina.

Am încercat a termina is correct grammatically,
but almost everyone would say am încercat să termin, using the conjunctiv of a termina.

câinele prietenului meu = the dog of my friend ( câine cu articol definit )
un câine de al prietenului meu = a dog of my friend ( câine cu articolul indefinit un )

o bancă = a bench / a desk / a bank
un birou = an office / bureau

mamă = mother
țâță = the boob
tată = father

Tata ends with an a, but it is still masculine.

Ea învață = She learns
Ea îl învață pe copil = She teaches the kid
Ea predă = She teaches
Ea predă copilului = She teaches the kid

worker = muncitor / lucrător
worker = muncitoare / lucrătoare (f.)

Nu avem un present continuu ca engleza sau spaniola.
Folosim gerunziul numai pentru lucruri ca: Pasărea cânta zburând.

We don't have a present continuous like English or Spanish.
We only use gerund for things like: The bird was singing while flying.

De ce = Why
Pentru că = Because

Fiindcă înseamnă același lucru și o poți folosi pe care vrei.
Because they mean the same thing and you can use whichever you want.

A utiliza sună foarte tehnic, în situații normale spunem a folosi.
A utiliza sounds very technical, in normal situations we say a folosi.

Amândouă sunt corecte, dar prima este mai folosită. Deci folosește-o pe oricare îți place mai mult.

Both are correct, but the first one is more used. So use whichever you like more.

Ok, luckily it seems like Italian and English, otherwise it would been another thing that I didn't remember.

Bine, fericire se aseamană cu italiana şi engleza, atfel ar fi fost un alt lucru că eu n-aş minti.
