Yeah. Not looking forward to having a go at your Japanese translation when it's done either. Unless someone like Bao gets to it first obviously.

Also, just a few statistics on the site.

Thanks Covered, I certainly will.

And guys, there's now a public wall where you can discuss stuff so I don't have to keep referring to this thread. If you have any concerns or anything, just write something on there and tag me in it :)

8 completed games in a week, that makes it less than a day for a game, that's impressive!

I wonder if this is going to put an end to the manually run game. One feature that is lacking though in the automated one is the competition spirit when there are 2 teams working on the same text.

It is rather is it not. Although the first few texts were relatively short, shall see how we fare with the longer texts :)

I wonder if this is going to put an end to the manually run game.
Part of me hopes not, the manually run games do have a bit more of a soul than these, but I also fear that interest in the manual games is diminishing. I mean, look at the results threads, after a week they get very little comments lol.

One feature that is lacking though in the automated one is the competition spirit when there are 2 teams working on the same text.
This is absolutely true. The only thing I would be concerned about with this kind of game if I was to implement it, is the validity of team spirit. I mean, most people won't even know which team they're in until they hit play. I suppose if people communicate earlier and know which languages they will tweak to translate they could work it out, but that's not guaranteed. If you guys were serious about it though, I could implement it and see how it goes.

I will be busy the next few days finishing my fourth chapter for my undergraduate thesis, but when I get some free time, the next thing I'm adding to the actual game (rather than the peripheral site) is the ability to choose how long the chains are.

Feel free to suggest anything else or discuss in this thread or on the Wall.

I do have a question, how do you feel about receiving more e-mails to your private e-mail address. Like perhaps letting you know when you are tagged in a wall post, or if someone comments on a game you participated in? I want to improve communicative reach, but without spamming you guys either.

Hashi, did you choose the skins, or are they some sort of preset? I ask because their names remind me of a certain wizarding school in Scotland. :)

All skin names appearing on the site are fictitious. Any resemblance or similarities to other works, living or dead, and fictional or real, is purely coincidental.

I just wanted to share a couple of excerpts from this game. They're cracking me up even now

Tom got angry with John who tried in vain to talk us over going to bed.
Tom was annoying John by trying to tell him that he wouldn't go to bed as a handicapped person.

We went on making noise for some time but without any success.
We kept making carbonated drinks, but without success.

Your trouble is your other languages. Few people can do Latin, and no one does Ancient Greek or Basque. German -> English and English -> German are your only real options (at the end of games or at the beginning) :/ Encourage more Basque/AG/Latin speakers to play :P

I just noticed that there were a couple e-mails from BTG in my spam folder.

And what's up with the "Querid@ Serafín"? Was the "Querid@" automatic or hand-made? :P

EDIT: Who the hell tinkered with the Spanish localizations. A lot of things have been changed without justification, even for somethings that I just wrong ("respondar"!).

EDIT 2: Oh, I see. *I* probably translated "Dear" for "Querid@". Didn't know this was used for sending e-mails (too)!

The link isn't working anymore. What happened to this? No more Broken Translation games (either manual or automatic) since October last year? :(

Yeah, I felt like getting back into it and tried the link, but it's dead. What's up?
