Pretérito imperfecto y Pretérito indefinido

Postby Shinn » 2006-08-08, 11:56

¡Hola!

¡Gracias!

In case I'm not making any sense in Spanish:
I have problems with pretérito imperfecto and pretérito indefinido i.e. the past tenses. Even though my teacher taught me the difference I still don't understand clearly how each tense is used. I have learnt that pretérito imperfecto is used for durative and repetitive actions and descriptions in the past and that pretérito indefinido is used for unique acctions in the past. But when I have to use them, I always make mistakes.
Because of this I could not do well in my exam. I hope that some can help me. Thanks!

It looks to me that you only need more practice to master the correct usage of the two. Here is a link for some exercises; hope it will help:

Good luck.

A question of hearing? I presume it means something like getting used to it, right?
