I'm decent. My dishes are edible and tasty, two things that matter.

The next person will be there for me when the rain starts to fall.

Of course, with a rainbow colored umbrella.

But will the next person be there for me when I have lost my keys and won't find them anywhere?

I'll use my mental powers to open your door.

Disclaimer: it only works for house doors, not cars.

Is the person after me into Latvian rock?

I didn't even know Latvian rock was a thing!

I ate the last thing the person after me cooked by sneaking into their house, but now I have an upset tummy and so I need to know what it was I ate.

Don't know how you lived for so long if you get stomachache from eggs and bacon, 'cause that's the last thing I 'cooked' lately. :P

The person after me starts their day by looking out the window and complaining about the weather.

No, I'm complaining it's not Friday yet (but hey today is actually Friday! wowowow!)

The person after me would like to be my guest when I do cooking experiences.

I'm always up for free food, so yes.

The person after me can reach the top of the fridge.

Yes, it's not very high anyway and I'm not a dwarf either :silly:

The person after me would love to put a dwarf with a red hat and a big beard in his garden.

Yes, and I try mindful meditation to recall what I forgot.

And the person after me now thinks I'm Buddhist.

(Use of the perfect in the second instance is more characteristic of BE usage, but I think even most NAE speakers would prefer the perfect in the first instance. Using the simple past there makes it sound like the person you're talking to is no longer living.)

Not exactly sure what you mean here. Perhaps "...when I cook experimentally" or "...when I try out new recipes".

You're too binary in your thinking to be a Buddhist, Osias.

The person after me also suffers from monkey mind.

What? Me, binary? How? And the heck can someone infer something like that about me by my posts on Unilang? On other social media, maybe...

Oh, yes, this is hard.

The need of doing groceries today made the person after me get out of the bed, even [do I need to repeat 'today' here?] being a holiday.

Can't I say "do shopping"?

Can't I put that comma there to indicate a rising in intonation for emphasis?

Osias wrote:Can't I say "do shopping"?

In certain contexts, yes. But "the need of doing groceries" sounds awful from a native-speaker point-of-view and I went for the simplest fix.

I suppose "I need to do groceries" sounds acceptable, if not something I would ordinarily say. (These are normally something I "buy" or "get".)

Osias wrote:Can't I put that comma there to indicate a rising in intonation for emphasis?

It doesn't indicate emphasis to me but rather the quality of being an afterthought (as if you just remembered it's also a holiday). See what dEhIN says.

"Do the shopping" is fine. But to piggyback on what linguoboy said, I usually "buy" groceries.

The comma there for me would indicate afterthought or a pause. A lot of times in English writing, a comma is used where in speaking there would be a pause or breath. Personally I would've put the comma, but then again I've been corrected in uni before for using too many commas! So I tend to give more places to pause than others find necessary.

We haven't had a holiday yesterday therefore I picked up the groceries after work as usually.

The person after me is a fan of reality tv.
Please correct my mistakes. I'd really appreciate it ❤

I stopped watching any kind of television a while ago, but I hated it even back then.

The next person wishes for naught but buns, hun.
