They're similar, but not to the extent that Finnish and Estonian are mutually understandable.
Jonne already wrote some similar words:
bearjadat - perjantai - friday
láibi - leipä - bread
laibut - leipoa - to bake
muhto - mutta - but
oastit - ostaa - to buy
siidu - sivu - page
dás - tässä - here
Numbers until 7 are similar, and place names, too:
Utsjoki-Ohcejohka
Kautokeino - Guovdageaidnu
Kittilä - Gihttel
Rovaniemi - Roavvenjárga
Sodankylä - Soađegilli

Well, also Turkish and Finnish has got similar words and even the same words.

But how many of these are ancient FU words? Leipä surely isn’t.
