They're similar, but not to the extent that Finnish and Estonian are mutually understandable.

Jonne already wrote some similar words:
bearjadat - perjantai - friday
láibi - leipä - bread
laibut - leipoa - to bake
muhto - mutta - but
oastit - ostaa - to buy
siidu - sivu - page
dás - tässä - here

Numbers until 7 are similar, and place names, too:

Utsjoki-Ohcejohka
Kautokeino - Guovdageaidnu
Kittilä - Gihttel
Rovaniemi - Roavvenjárga
Sodankylä - Soađegilli
Native: English
Fluent: Finnish
Want to resuscitate: German
Actively learning: Hebrew
Wishes she had time for: Northern Sámi
En usko humalaan.

But how many of these are ancient FU words? Leipä surely isn’t.

De ezek közül mennyi az ősi FU szó? A leipä biztosan nem az.

It’s kéz. ;)

Az kéz. ;)
Tanulni, tanulni, tanulni!

A pő, ha engemély, kimár / De mindegegy, ha vildagár... / ...mert engemély mindet bagul, / Mint vélgaban a bégahur!...

I know this thread is years old, but just wanted to say thanks, it's been very helpful!
