Renaming of this sub-forum

Postby Johanna » 2013-04-29, 21:40

Yet another possible change ;)

Some of us thought that maybe the name of this particular sub-forum is a bit vague and technical-sounding. So we tried to come up with a few new suggestions, and the one we are considering at the moment is this one:

Information and discussions about Unilang

Any thoughts? And if you think have a better suggestion, please post it.

I prefer it to sound technical-sounding. :P

The whole idea is to make everyone understand that this is the sub-forum to discuss anything that has to do with the forum itself in, and the rest of the site. A too technical-sounding name keeps lots of people out.

We've got an anonymous contribution: "Unilang - information, input, and questions"

So, which of the options presented do you prefer?
Swedish (sv) native; English (en) good; Norwegian (no) read fluently, understand well, speak badly; Danish (dk) read fluently, understand badly, can't speak; Faroese (fo) read some, understand a bit, speak a few sentences; German (de) French (fr) Spanish (es) forgetting; heritage language.

That’s good too. Or maybe “information, input and inquiries” to make it more alliterative? :P

I think changing the forum name is a good idea -- it sounds a bit obscure now. :)

Obscure and uninviting.

I don't see why we should change it. It sounds so professional and important. I like that. Each time I open it I feel like I'm working for the UN.

The thing is that not everyone on Unilang speaks English as well as you or I do, and since this is such an important forum it's important that it's clear what it's about :)

But I agree that it sounds professional as it is now :) Just too obscure ;)
