Conlang writing systems

Im thinking of starting a new conlang and wondering what writing system to use. I really like the Inuktitut syllabary and I'm currently leaning towards that one. Although If I do end up using it im going to change the sounds represented by them a lot. Just wanted your opinion, whats your favourite Writting system?

All writing systems are cool in their own way, but I really like Mongolian, Lepcha, Cuneiform (not just Sumerian), Tibetan, Balinese, Georgian, Chinese and Japanese (hiragana more than katakana). Also, the Voynich manuscript's writing and Linear A are seriously awesome; I'd kinda want to conlangs using both, but obviously the problem is that there's no way of knowing which letters represent which sounds, and just making it up would be like deciding that the word "crocodile" was pronounced ɑfʒɑʒøʀɛɕ. :P

Thank you both for you opinions!

I agree those are all very cool, ecspecially Classic Mongolian script, actually trying to find some resources on that to read about. My favorite writing system is Mayan Glyphs, which i can write at a decent level.

You do make a solid point, and altering the sounds of Inuktitut is just dumb, ecspecially for people who already now the script(Like me) and it just looks...wrong. I'd probably settle on it but its only vowels are a and i...Also the long forms.

The problem isn't that I'm not "Creative" or "Original" but that my penmanship isn't the greatest. Its never has been. Plus i cant really type it, unless i get it digitized or make a font. And that doesn't sound that bad eithier but my commitment to school right now may be a litllllllle to much for that right now.

No problemo.

I'll answer this question of yours either way.

1. Latin
2. Cyrillic
3. Old Hungarian
4. Greek
5. Hebrew
6. Armenian
7. Korean
8. Mongolian

I think the more sophisticated a script looks the less I find it appealing.

Interesting... I love the way mongolian looks as well, and Greek was the first foreign language I actually studied, but i gave up for a bit...But then again I was 10-11 years old...
I really like Korean too, I hear the script is really easy. One of my favourites as well.
Oh what am i thinking, Cherokee is also one of my all time favourites! :yep:

The script alone mad me begin studying the language, they have that effect on me. I love the massive amount of Kanji, even though remembering them can be a huge task...

How about one of the Tibetan scripts?

I'm trying to create a new script based on Austronesian languages writing system. If you're interested, I'll show the Wolaian syllabary. I don't know which kind of script you like the most, but I hope you'll take a look to this list.

For a while, my dad and I kind of toyed with the idea of inventing a script that looked like scratches for writing Mountain Lion, but in practice, we just use Roman script in e-mails and such.

I would imagine Mountain Lion be written in hieroglyphics. :)

I also considered writing it in Chinese characters, but that idea died quickly when I brought it up with my dad.
