Angos

So it just occurred to me that I have never actually shown my language in this forum, instead making indirect threads about it.

The language is Angos. It is an a posteriori international auxiliary language. In order to avert a replication of Esperanto, I've included some unique features. Notably- the absence of inherent qualities or actions (i.e. no direct words for "big", "small", "walk", "cook", etc.), leaving substantives, numbers, and particles. In addition, a distinction is made between natural and artificial nouns. Borrowed from Esperanto are vowel classifiers and an expanded table of correlatives.

Basic Stuff
Alphabet & IPA
a, b, c [tʃ], d, e [ɛ], f, g, h, i, y [j], k, m, n ([ŋ] when succeeded by k or g), o, p, l [r/l], s, t, u, v, w

Diphthongs:
ay/ai, ey/ei, oy/oi, aw/au, ew/eu

Vowel classifiers:
-o = noun
-a = noun action (any action you do to or with the noun in context)
-i = noun quality (shares a quality with the noun)
-u = noun manner (does in the manner of the noun)
The roots can be further inflected with -s to denote an artificial quality.

All particles end in -e, and all numbers end in -n. Numbers and prepositional particles may be inflected.

Plural nouns are preceded by the particle le:
leisos = house
le leisos = houses

Present Tense is unmarked. Past tense is denoted by the particle me and future by the particle ke. There are no perfect, imperfect, continuous, conditional, imperative, or subjunctive forms.

The agent, patient, and subject are all unmarked. The word order must be SVO. The verb "to be" does not exist; the positioning of two nouns together fulfills the function (ex. lo leisos = It is a house).

Adjectives (said for the sake of simplicity), adverbs, and applicable particles are premodifiers.

Angos uses endocentric compounding heavily. Compounds are formed by the junction of two roots and a final vowel classifier.

The Pronouns:
wo = I
le wo = we
to = you
le to = you all
lo = he/she/it (artificial 'it' would be los)
le lo = they

So those are the basics. Not very technical or organized, but bear with me
Feedback/advice would be appreciated.

I love people who work verb negativity into their verbal morphology rather than cheating with a negative "particle" :P

I cheated a lot with this language. It's going to make other conlangers uncomfortable XD

Yes; after all, no natlangs have a negative "particle" instead of negative verbal morphology. :P

No, that's not what I was implying, I was more or less saying I find a negative particle boring and unadventurous.

I grouped a lot of things into the really broad 'particle' category because I'm lazy. Plus it's an IAL, it's not supposed to be adventurous :P

So I reorganized the dictionary divisions into regions instead of language families. Under each are notable languages from the region. Keep in mind I'm adjusting for linguistic distribution.

Europe + Eurasia: 229
English
Spanish
German
Finnish
Greek
Russian

South + Central Asia: 99
Hindi/Urdu
Arabic
Hebrew

East Asia + Pacific: 85
Chinese
Japanese
Korean
Indonesian

Priori/Mix: 31

American Indigenous: 27
Cherokee
Navajo

Africa: 22
Swahili

So I'm thinking of overhauling the morphology a bit, namely flipping the adverb and particle endings ('e' and 'u' respectively). Particles are used a helluva lot more than Angos' strict adverbs.

Here's what it is now:
Tu kusu wo mu gia du tovarojos, wo mu kare emasa dogu gemos.
When I drove to the store, I happily bought that game.

What it would be:
Te kuse wo me gia de tovarojos, wo me karu emasa doge gemos.

I think it flows a little better. Anyone have any opinion?

The latter does flow nicer, however, when reading the first one, I did what Japanese does, and devoice the <u> (<u> is [ɯ̥] often in Japanese) and it flows a lot nicer then.

I did that a bit as well, but sometimes my final u's were indistinguishable from my final o[ʊ]'s :?

Use the latter version then.

From what I see it looks pretty good. Is there a cursive form?

The wikispaces site I made for Angos got a free upgrade because it's an education site. $5 a month saved.

Thanks

I'm still fine-tuning it, adjusting some aesthetic features and figuring out some semantic concepts.

I'm thinking of taking out [v], but then I only have 19 letters. Because I'm obsessive compulsive, I need to add another letter.

So here are some options I've come up with:
Combine 'ts' into the graph z, q, or c
New sound: [z] (graph z)
New sound: [tʃ] (graph q/c)

Thoughts? Suggestions?
