Ijgiole [iʒˈd͡ʒɔːle] (f.)

Ia, haive ijgiole na trusp uebirna. Ahtipre!— Wow, this linen is so soft. I feel like I'm touching the clouds! (ahtipre can't translate properly; an idiom such as the English one could replace it for a strong effect in Celdovin)

Next word: (really want to try this again; I really want to see how another language translates this) place for the reading of books for non-educational purposes (contrasting that which is for reading books for educational purposes, but neither are libraries for this place does not necessarily store books for public or private use as it is a different thing altogether[*].)

Edit: I suppose you could have it as just a "place for reading" (I don't expect the difference between educational and non-educational reading to be prevalent in your concultures) but still contrasting it with a library for the given reason (no book holding and loaning).

I don't know what you expect from a translation of such a highly culturally specific concept (other than literally "place for the reading of books for non-educational purposes"). You also don't give enough information for anyone to fully understand what you're talking about. You've told us this place isn't a library but haven't told us why/how it isn't a library, so we have no point of comparison.

But I have explained how it's different: where a library stores books which you can loan, this particular place is merely for reading and you bring your own books (which only modern ones have lockers in which you can keep your own books safe, but you're not checking anything out).

There's always room for change, as I put in the edit on the post it doesn't have to be specifically non-educational reading. It could even be a library that only has fiction whereas another word refers to a library which only has non-fiction.

Hmm well, by combining the word "quātos" (room, hall) with the verb nōlemi (to read), I think I can create

noléquatos - reading room, i.e. what you are describing. In contrast, a library would be the word that means literally "book room". (sínquatos - from sinde, book, + quātos).

Híme kántos vaiátotei noléquatōd.

"I just came back from the reading room."

Hope that works :)
