Hey, recently I had the idea that we could have a sticky thread containing links to all your conlang threads...

If you want your conlang to be added to the list in this posting, write the name of the conlang, the link and maybe some brief information about your conlangs.

this is a pretty kewl idea, it's a good way to get the word out about your conlangs and keep a link for your own personal use so that you can have a resource to work on them and edit them that's static (in the sense that it's not stored on any one particular computer, except the UL server of course )

Here are the ones that I still have a serious interest in working with:

*note: Aspectis became the basis for UMMI, mak san tak became the basis for 'funlang', hassis was an interesting project but has been abandoned due to limited expansion capabilities

I took Egein's example and started a Sjal blog here: http://vaalan.blogspot.com/ :) I don't plan on putting together an entire organized outline of Sjal grammar or vocabulary, but I will be putting snippets and lots of Sjal texts on there and answer questions if anyone's curious :D

I put up a video so you can hear me monotonously mumbling basic phrases in Sjal (stole the idea from Egein): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Im9xhVu3FcY

And a short poem thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpD89ib661I

I'll add more videos in Sjal here and there :) I need to work on my pronunciation :o

(ps: if anyone knows the best setting in Windows Movie Maker size/quality-wise, let me know. I'm a noob)

I should record myself saying something in one of my conlangs, that could be interesting...

Some super nerdy information on Sjal, some of which is so obscure I had to research it to even answer the question. Also, some translations and glosses (still adding to them): http://cals.conlang.org/language/sjal/

Details: Originally created for a conworld (Drion) and several stories, it is now 20 years old and has become stable some five years ago. Flexional, typologically similar to modern Indo-European languages like French or Hindi, alphabetic writing with three basic letter styles. It belongs to a large family of (about 30) languages. Features a grammatically distinctive stress in both nominals and verbs, as well as a (basically) two-person system for pronouns and verbs.

Name: Sukika, Tuggigga, Tuggish; Ravumi
User: Panglossa
Link: http://conlang.wikia.com/wiki/Sukika
Details: Originally created for a conworld (Drion) and several stories, it is an agglutinative language designed to be similar to both Finnish and Eskimo-Aleutan languages. It features a prolific allophony by which the basic consonant articulations (bilabial, dental/alveolar and velar) have a single archiphoneme which is realized either as an unvoiced plosive, a fricative, a geminated voiced plosive or a combination of nasal+voiced plosive, according to their position in the word. Another important element is metaphony, as some consonant sequences are not allowed and switch places when they happen (e.g. if P and M come together, the result is MB). Noun declension includes notions of case, number, definiteness, deictics "this", "that" and "such" and possession, while verb conjugation includes time, aspect, modality and other derivational notions. The indication of voice in verbs is also of notice: a transitive verb is changed to passive when conjugated as an intransitive verb (e.g.: "I see" (transitive) = "I see (something)" but "I see" (intransitive) = "I am seen").
