-Jhumpa Lahiri

But we missed "v". I'll do it:

[flag=]hmn[/flag] vaj
garden

Looks like we continue with "x" since we've already got "wika" for "w"? Almost to the end of the alphabet!

There is no "v" in Tagalog. That is why I missed it.
There is no "x" either. :(

No problem. Hmong has plenty of x's. This word, for example, has two:

Just wanted to say that generally with these alphabet games (as I was one of the original creators), that it's not required to go by the rules of the English alphabet (or any other languages for that matter). In other words, if you want to use a language that doesn't have next letter, you can skip to the next letter in that language. There is no need to have a 'z' for example, if there is no 'z' in the language you're posting in. (Like Vietnamese. :P ) And game play continues from the next letter in whatever the next language is, and so on. Then, when you get the end of the alphabet, you start all over. Letters can be added too, depending on the language. Say the next person posted in Vietnamese, they could post a word starting with 'ă,' because that is considered a different letter from 'a.' Same goes for Hmong 'dh', or 'dl', which could be posted after a 'd', and so on. (These are the two languages I know a bit about, and can easily type :lol: ).

Non-Latin scripts go in as close an English (i.e. Roman/Latin) alphabet order as possible. Again, added letters are allowed. Transliteration of some sort is always appreciated in the case of non-Latin scripts.

I realize that the rules aren't always posted in some of these games in the language threads or as clearly stated as in the original game threads, so I thought it might be helpful to post this. :)
