Hello! and help request

Hello everyone - this is my first post here.
I would like to ask for help with a novel I am writing. It is a sci-fi novel. To try and be a little different, I intend for one of the futuristic societies to have Iranian origins. (I visited Iran some years ago and I have good memories of my time there.)
What are some good Farsi words for "federation" or "union" or similar (alliance, bloc - you get the idea)?
Intensive googling has come up with the word "fayarrak" for asteroid. Is that even remotely right? I hope so as I like the way it sounds.
