versoeking

Postby leander11 » 2008-02-21, 15:10

Hi, I tried to write down the lyrics of an Afrikaans song but some parts are unclear to me and I probably made mistakes in what I wrote. Could someone be so kind to help me with the rest of the song and correct what I wrote so far.
Thank you

ok so this is what I have so far:
Versoeking

Maak my mal
Dit laat my soms hartval
My wêreld draai soos jy em spin, versoeking ek begin
Versoeking jy ken die spel, begryp my tot in my vel
Gedachtes wat my . . . jou lyf wat my vergeet

Ek smag na jou bene, jou lippe en jou gene
Ek bind je vas hier na by my dan kom jy my verlei
My hart klop . ., my keel is seer, my selfbeheersing my nie deer as jy jou lippe teen my skier, kom ... my wy gaan vier

Al die triks het jy geleer. . . . . . . jou lyf begeer ik, ek kan dit net nie keer
Jy kom en ga net soos die wind, ek smag na jou soos ’n kind maar nou wil ek . . .sal jy my ooit bemin

OK, tried my best, don't actually know the song, although I've heard it.. I try to avoid Hi-5...

Hi, thank you for the correction. :)
The dots were actually parts I couldn't understand at all.
haha yeah it probably isn't the best of the best songwise but I like the way they bring it, so convincing  and just the beautiful sound of the language
ek sou hulle glad nie kan vermy nie :) (if that made sense) :?

They don't sing too bad, pleasant to listen to, but not great artists, we have much better in Afrikaans! Hi-5 are popular, but considered rather candy floss singers here.
You did very well in transcribing the song, actually.

ek sou hulle glad nie kan vermy nie

Good Afrikaans! Made perfect sense. :) And you got the double negative right!!! :D

ahh :D *feeling euphoric*

I found out about Hi5 by accident really, I was on youtube looking for Afrikaans songs, I also found 'Eden' which I think isn't bad either ('Aan jou vas' is nice) but this is probably about the same style as Hi5. I'm sure a lot of Afrikaans girls like them :)
But who would be the 'bigger' singers in Afrikaans language, according to you? ek is nuuskierig

groetjies

Yes, the girls like Eden...

The major Afrikaans singers at the moment are Laurika Rauch (she's awesome!), Amanda Strydom, Anton Goosen, Nicholis Louw (mostly rock), Karen Zoid (rock too), Kurt Darren... :? , Steve Hofmeyr, Theuns Jordaan. All big sellers, and very good. There are others who are not good, but are big sellers, and then of course there are those who are good, but not big sellers.

Hmmm... Only reason I included him on my list, is because he's such a nice guy. And yes, he is very popular. BTW, he's actually English, but mainly sings Afrikaans.
