Translation for basque dog commands

Postby Aolearain » 2016-01-02, 18:26

Hi I'm trying to teach my puppy basque dog commands and I'd like to fact check what I found online. I'm mostly Spanish Basque and grew up and live in Boise Idaho which has a very large Basque community and culture. I'm enrolled in the college to learn Euskara this semester but I need to train her now. Any advice would help. Thanks

Sit - eseri

Come - etorri

Lay - ipini

Stay - lo

Fetch -

Drop -

Load up(in the car) -

Shake -

Roll over -

Go - joan

Play - joko

Attack -

Kill -

Hi!

well, those are the translations that I'd use for my own dog:

Sit - eseri

Come - etorri

Lay - etzan

Stay - egon

Fetch - ekarri

Drop - utzi

Load up(in the car) -igon

Go - joan

Play - jolasean

Attack - eraso

Kill - hil / hiltzazu

... am not certain what "shake" means as a dog command....

Shake is probably "shake hands", have the dog give you one of its paws to shake hands with you.
Guk euskaraz, zuk zergatik ez?
