Spero che io riesca a spiegare quella frase inglese. Allora, è nota la sentenza È il tono che fa la musica / C’est le ton qui fait la musique, cioè non basta sola una parola per sé a capire che cosa significa, perché la comprensione completa del suo significato dipende soprattutto dalla situazione, dal modo, e dalla tonalità in cui si pronuncia. Per es.: La parola “canaglia” pronunciata in modo furioso è intesa seriamente, ma detta in tono scherzoso ad un buon amico non è un’offesa.
