Tere!

I'm a big fan of the Estonian language, my first experience with it being rooting for Estonia in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. (Randajad was so amazing)

Anyway, I've been following Eesti Laul very closely this year (hard to do from America lol), and I've fell in love with the song "Maagiline päev" by Violina and Rolf Junior.

I can't find the lyrics to this song anywhere!

I'd really appreciate it if someone could find/display the lyrics to this song.

I tried but couldn't find anything sorry. It is a really cool song though :) It makes me want to find out more about Violina. I already have a pile of Rolf Jnr. music :)

I got this lyrics by hearing so it might be wrong but anyway it's not a deep philosophy, so here they are:

Kelleks ei tea olen muutund ma tean nüüd öelda,
et aeg peatust ei tee sammudest luua võib vaid saatust endale

soovima uuesti proovima julgema pead sa
ja et homsel nii mõndagi sulle ja mulle on anda

õnnest on loodud see hullunult veider tundub vaid meile
siit kõrgustesse maailm lai (?)
mis oli eile jäi õnnetuile
maagiline on see päev
on see päev
maagiline on see päev

Kelleks nüüd sa oled muutunud on aasta möödund
ja tead paanik (?) su sees leiab ka sind
või leiad endast enda soovima uuesti proovima julgema pead sa

A free translation:

Whom have I become, I now can say
That time doesn't stop from the steps, you can only make your destiny for yourself
To wish, to try again you have to
and tomorrow has a lot to give for you and me

It's created from happiness, this crazily weird, seems to us
From here to the heights, the world is wide
What was yesterday, it stayed for the unhappy
Magic is this day, this day
Magic is this day.

Whom have you become, a year has passed
And you now, the panic in you finds also yourself

Or you find yourself from yourself, you have to try

Thanks very much for your work, but funnily enough, Eesti Laul posted the lyrics today (or in the past few days, I haven't checked recently).

If you were wondering about those (?) areas, here are the true lyrics, according to Eesti Laul:

Kelleks, ei tea
Olen muutund ma.
Tean nüüd öelda,
Et aeg peatust ei tee
Sammudes luua võid
Vaid saatust endale

Soovida, uuesti proovida, julgema pead sa
Ja et homsel nii mõndagi sulle ja mulle on anda
Õnnest on loodud see

Hullunult veider, tundub vaid meile
Siit kõrgustest see maailm lai
Mis oli eile, jäi õnnetuile
Maagiline on see päev
On see päev
Maagiline on see päev

Kelleks nüüd sa,
Oled muutunud?
On aasta möödund ja

Tead,
Valik su sees,
Leiab kas sind
Või leiad endast enda ja

Soovima, uuesti proovima, julgema pead sa
Ja et homsel nii mõndagi sulle ja mulle on anda
Õnnest on loodud see

Anyway, thanks again.

We have decided with our friends here that the best song for Eurovision is this: http://uudised.err.ee/index.php?0&popup=video&id=29940. The author is Vaiko Eplik who has been my favourite for a long time and singer is Lenna Kuurmaa (known from Vanilla Ninja, the frontwoman, now actually an actress also).

About Rapunzel: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rapunzel

kas tuhat korda veel
sa oled oodand kaua
su kannus jahtub tee
ja maasikad on laual

veel mõni hetk
sest prints peab täpne olema
veel mõni hetk
ja muinasjutt võib alata

Rapunzel päästa valla juus
et kallim pääseks üles
Rapunzel ootab armastus
ta tuleb roosid süles

ja nõnda peegli ees
sa nukralt värvid huuli
just nagu keeraks sees
et elus ei juhtu nii

et langeb pilk, kuu kaob
ja kaugel kaigub kell
sind keegi öösse kannab
valgel hobusel

Rapunzel päästa valla juus
et kallim pääseks üles
Rapunzel ootab armastus
ta tuleb roosid süles

Rapunzel päästa valla juus
või muidu jäädki üles

English:

Have you thousand times more
waited so long
in your teapot the tea is cooling down
and the strawberries are on the table

Some moments more
because the prince has to be punctual
Some moments more
and the fairytale can begin

Rapunzel let your hair free
to let your dairest up
Rapunzel, love is waiting
he's coming roses in his arms

And so in front of the mirror
you sadly colour your lips
something like whirls inside you
that it doesn't happen like this in real life

That the eyes go down, the moon disappears
and far, far away the bell is ringing
somebody is carrying you into the night
on a white horse

Rapunzel let your hair free
to let your dairest up
Rapunzel, love is waiting
he's coming roses in his arms

Rapunzel let your hair free
or you will stay up there

Agree, Lenna's song is good (I mean better than the other participants), but of course as Vanilla Ninja fan I'm not so glad about it (Cool Vibes in ESC-2005 was much better for me :) ).
So, I hope she will win Eesti Laul, but not sure about Oslo... for me this song doesn't sound like a ESC winner

Well, it doesn't matter whether it is a typical Eurovision song. We just like it. And as we saw in Riga, Vaiko Eplik's songs are not very much liked on those stages :).

We could put Anne Veski on stage to get all the "former Soviet" votes, but why? There's no sense. Let the younger generation rule :).

That's a really pretty song. I saw a picture of the singer and she looks so familiar somehow. Is she a big celebrity in Estonia? I feel like I've seen her somewhere before.

It's hard not to be famous in Estonia if you are a singer :). Laura Põldvere has been on Eurovision in 2005 with a girlband Suntribe (I didn't like that song at all) and she has participated in our local Eurovision contests couple of times.

The best thing I've ever listened to in Estonian is Vennaskond. Especially songs "Insener Garinii hüperboloid", "Ostap Benderi Laul", "Öösinine Taevas" and "Õhtud Moskva Lähistel".

Out of curiosity, what do Estonians generally think off their ESC entry this year? (Getter Jaani - Rockefeller Street). Personally, I like this song quite a bit :P What about her other two songs - Grammofon, and Parim Päev?

I meant too much Estonian for Eurovision.
