Γεια σου Michael!

I'm new here and have no idea how to make those fancy red and yellow letters that people correct each other with here, so I'll just make black ones :-) This is what I think:

I want to tell you how much I love you
and that I'll never leave for as long as I live
whatever I need, whatever I ask :?: (correct)
only near you can I find it. :?: (correct)

    Love in essence
    wants passion, fantasy
wants a heart that can forgive :?: (correct)
    Love goes against (maybe 'defeats'?)
all the rules and should :?: (and the 'musts')
Love can do it all! :?:

    I'm erasing my past
for your eyes the temptation :?: (for the temptation of your eyes)
I only want to win you over
for that I am not selfish.

I speak finlandssvenska and svenska daily. I work with Finnish and sometimes English and Spanish. I've studied German, French, Latin and some other languages, but forgot a lot. My lifelong passion is Greek and I would someday love to learn the Russian language. And a hundred more!

Could anyone translate this song in english?

The trains are leaving to the world,
But they don't leave for me
To bring me to you.

The ships are leaving to the world,
But my journey
is your absence.

Tell me what you are to me,
You're what I've been looking for (lit. "you're the unobtainable dream I've been wanting my whole life)
I keep looking for a path
That won't separate us.

One night I'll burn everything
In my heart all thousand meters (a km).
One night so I'll be close to you
One time to burn in embrace.

I walked all over; a stranger,
and they became known one by one
so that I could reach you.

You keep getting longer
With eyes I catch you
*You leave with my hands.*

*με τα χέρια μου φεύγεις.
Okay, well depending on where you put the emphasis I guess, it would change the sentence. The whole last paragraph was pretty vague in that sense. It could be translated, 'you leave by my hands' like you slip by me or something. If you want closer translations let me know, but I tried to stick to the direct translation without the implied meanings. . .

What's the Greek equivalent of Deo volente? Googling turned up "εαν ο κύριοος θελη", but I haven't found enough independent instances of that to be convinced it's accurate.

Give me the link to the page where you found that. :? "Εάν ο Θεός θέλει" sounds and is spelled a bit better.

The most exact equivalent (in terms of structure) would be Θεού θέλοντος.

I'm looking for a phrase that is or was historically used by Graecophones in the same contexts as Deo volente was throughout Western Christianity.

Yes, it's been used that way (or at least like "God willing"). A more colloquial alternative would be "πρώτα ο Θεός" (lit. "first God") or as mentioned "αν θέλει ο Θεός" (this order is the usual one when used as a set phrase).

This might be useful: http://www.cres.gr/kape/pdf/download/01 ... Ellada.pdf

It has Ευρωπαϊκό Σύστημα Εμπορίας Εκπομπών for the European Union Emission trading scheme and for cap and trade it has σύστημα ανώτατου ορίου και εμπορίου.

How would one say "Give and Receive"

My friend wants to start an organization where people give him materials (trash) and he recycles them into toys, clothing, etc. for them.

Hi I'm thinking of getting this tattoo I found on Pinterest in a little smaller font than shown in the picture. The caption said that it translates to live life with love. But agape the selfless unconditional form of love. Is this th correct translation ?

I would translate it to Greek like something like that:
Ζήσε τη ζωή με αγάπη

But again, I'm not a native speaker, so please wait for a native speaker to confirm my translation.
native: (tr)
advanced: (en) (el)
intermediate: (fr) (ka)
focus: (de) (sl) (hr)
