Just because I already know Spanish, French, Portuguese and Italian, so Romanian is the major Romance language I'm missing. Besides, for a Romance language, it is quite interesting.

Next year I'm planning on visiting Romania and Moldova + Transnistria. I also find the music to be quite amazing. The language sounds very nice IMO.

This post is a bit inactive, but...

My family is of Romanian origin - Not that I know of
My (possible) spouse speaks it - Nope
I (will) work in Romania - Possibly. Who knows?
I want to go to holiday in Romania and just want a basic knowledge of the language - I want to go there, but this isn't my motivation for learning it.
Romania simply fascinates me - Yes.
I am fond of Romance languages - They are part of my studies, so yes.
I learn foreign languages for fun and Romanian happened to be one of them - True.
I need it at school - That would be awesome, but no.

I discovered this language a while ago, but never paid attention to it. Recently, as my love for languages has blossomed, so has my desire to learn this language. So far, my knowledge is very basic (one day of self-study has taught me 'bună dimineața' and some other basics. But I love this language. :) I'm hoping I can find someone to speak/write with that can help me learn it on my own. Until then, my love shall grow!

Might I recommend using social media websites? Find someone there and engage in a conversation, you'll be set :)

I'm learning romanian by myself with grammar books that I bought online. I haven't much time to study it, but I can visit this forum anyway. So, if you (everybody ;) ) can help me with romanian, I'll be happy for your help! Mulţumesc! ;)

Just out of curiosity, why Romanian amongst all Romance language?
What does it have that made you like it?

Doar din curiozitate, de ce româna, dintre toate celelalte limbi latine?
Ce are mai special de te-a făcut să-ți placă?

I like Romanian first because I really like their sounds and grammar (as far as I know about its grammar ;) ) and second I have friends in Romania, so I wish one day to speak Romanian with them (and I want to make them a surprise ;) )
I studied also Spanish as Romance Lenguage ;)
Question/Întrebare: Îmi place Româna, is it right? Is it "I like Romanian"? Have I to put Română?

The first version is good. :)
But we don't write the names of languages with capital letters.

Prima versiune e bună. :)
Dar numele limbilor nu se scriu cu litere mari.

Ok, thanks :) . So româna and not Româna... Yes, in Italian is similar but it isn't wrong writing names of lenguages with capital letter ;).
I try to translate, but I'll cry when I'll see the correction :haharight: :
Bine, mulţumesc :) . Deci, "româna şi nu "Româna... Da, în italian este asemănător dar nu este greşit să scrie numele limbilor cu litere mari. ;)

I find it funny that Romanians always ask this question... like it's so strange to want to learn Romanian?!

I learned it because I had a crush on a Romanian girl in high school. Then it turned out to be a language I really liked, so I continued for a bit. I started learning it again because it became available on Duolingo... I wish it were more useful, I'd keep studying it if it were. Right now I feel a bit guilty for studying it.
English (native); français (semi-fluent); español (basic conversational, 3 years in school + completed Duolingo tree); română (studied for a year + Duolingo Level 7); italiano (beginner; Duolingo tree completed); Deutsch (Duolingo Level 11, but I have a poor grasp of this language)

Official Dabbling History: 1.5 semesters in college nihongo; 2 semesters in college Kiswahili; 3 college linguistics classes

degree in Quenya from University of Rivendell (j.k.)
