It might have been Coliiţă (Romanian spelling). I'm not a 100% sure about how Moldavians make
diminutives out of Russian names.
Here are some other diminutivs for names in Romanian. I will specify the gender when not obvious.

Maria -> Măriuca
Sveta -> Svetuţa :)
m. Ion -> Ionel, Nelu, Ionică, Nică.
m. Nicolae -> Nicu, Lae.
Gheorghe -> Ghiţă
George -> Gică
f. Georgeta -> Geta, Getuţa
f. Ruxandra -> Ruxi
m. Bogdan -> Bogdănel
m. Constantin -> Costică
f. Adriana -> Adi
m. Adrian -> Adi
f. Alina -> Alinuţa
m. Radu -> Răducu, Ducu
m. Horea -> Horică
m. Mihai -> Mişu, Miţă
f. Mihaela -> Miha
m. Cristian -> Cristi
f. Cristina -> Cristi

It's late, I can think of no more ;)
There are 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary and those who don't.
