Mi se face inima ca un purice. I need help with the last part. Heart that a flea. Does not make sense. Please someone help!! Frank

The expression is slightly different, correct is "cât" instead of "ca":

a avea    inima                       cât   un purice
to have   the heart     [as small]     as     a flea

meaning: to be extremely afraid.
