Could someone please put diacritics in my sentence above.

I wonder whether the Portuguese forum’s coming back to life any time soon.

I would have never imagined that but... I like Portuguese! Both Brazilian and European.

A sério, Vijay?

Only Goa, Damão and Diu were Portuguese up until 1961. But historically there were other areas around the western coast controlled by the Portuguese over the centuries.

I didn't know that. Portugal is a great country, so is it's culture. As brazilian, most of my ancestors were Portuguese.

It's funny how Portugal left very few of its culture in its ex-colonies, except Brazil, Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Timor East etc.
In Macau only 1% of the population speaks Portuguese.
While Vietnamese people forgot their alphabet was designed by the Portuguese: they either say it was designed by a "Spanish missionary", or by the "French".

I think it's probably better to write shorter texts or else people will be scared and won't post here... :P

For longer texts, we have native Portuguese speakers.

falante = speaker
falador = someone who speaks a lot

Also, have a look at the distinction between por and para

É quase Natal, mas está tanto calor!

Here it's rainy and windy... but I don't plan on going out either. I'll spend most of the next 24 hours eating... :P

Obrigado.

Is every post in this thread part of a conversation?
