It is by my hand you will rise from the ashes of this world.

Free will is a myth. Religion is a joke. We are all pawns, controlled by something greater: Memes. The DNA of the soul.

Damn, that sentence was difficult to translate, and it took me ages to do that.

Bordel, cette phrase était difficile à traduire, ça m'a pris un temps fou !

It is very obvious to me they got you worked up against us.

Even if in English you indeed have to put the "who", in French the "que" is needed here :P
(what frightens me is that I cannot come up with a rule for this one) :hmm:

Joshua and I were mesmerized by those pictures of Israel and already daydreaming about a trip to the Promised Land.

It's fairly simple the way it was taught to me:

"Qui" = sujet, "que" = complément d'objet direct

It's only after prepositions that relative pronoun "qui" implies that the antecedent is human.

Look what I found in the attic: a box of old photos of your grandparents.

After a good fifteen minutes of uncontrollable howling, we drifted apart and started to arrange our stuff, both embarrassed by what had just happened.
