Translation for tattoo

Postby Caseumamatores » 2016-05-28, 3:17

Hello,

I need help to translate into hebrew for a tattoo, i googled this but i want to make sure that it's correct.

אל תסתכל בקנקן, אלא במה שבתוכו
Al tistakel baqanqan, ela bemah shebetokho
Translation: Don't look at the jar, but at what's inside it.
Meaning: Don't be fooled by external appearances - find the real value.
English equivalent: Don't judge a book by its cover.

Would really appreciate it if anyone could help me, need the words in big font.

Thanks for your help.

Best regards,
Andre

Hi
The exact saying is:
"אל תסתכל בקנקן אלא במה שיש בו"
Don't forget that in Hebrew the sentence is read from right to left.
BTW This saying comes from: Ethics of the Fathers which is a tractate of the Mishna that details the Torah's views on ethics and interpersonal relationships

Good Luck
