I saw eyes inside the night,
from the darkness ascending,
I saw eyes inside the night,
grey and dreaming.
I saw eyes inside the night,
their gaze [is] so piercing,
contemplating [are] the eyes in the black of night,
seeking they [a]loving-one.
straying(/-searching) [is] the gaze and sorrowful*,
sparkling [is] the gaze and weeping,
straying[is]the gaze,sparkling [is] the gaze,
and longingly-awaits.
big and pure they the two eyes,
straying in the mists,
sad,sad they the two eyes,
like a children's cry.
And I shall never know,
why he saddened,
and I shall never know,
after who he strays.
-I couldn't think of a proper translation in English to the word נוגה that will convey all of its nuances. It generally implies a melancholy-struck gaze, cast with some yearning.
-the word תועה usually means 'straying',in the context of the phrase מבט תועה though,it means a 'searching gaze'.

1.X is used to indicate the same sound which is represented by 'ch' in the word loch ness.
2.You may safely ignore any occurrences of H altogether,as few are able to pronounce,or even distinguish it when pronunced by others anymore, including myself.
