Ah, thank you Omri. I forget the "Et" alot (probably because it wouldn't seem right to my english ears to say, "I like the your picture" - a small linguistic barrier ;) )

Yep, it's certainly because of that matter. :P I had similar difficulties when I first started to learn german. :haha:

And stupid me! I wrote about your name, but didn't detailed. :haha:
Anyway, it's derived from the Hebrew word "תאומים" (Te'omim / tɛʔɔˈmim ), which means "Twins". So, from now on, I'll be calling you Twins. :P :haha:

Depends on you! Do you want to memorize all letters first? Or learn them at the same time as you learn some basic vocabulary?
It personally took me some 4 weeks, if not more, to memorize letters, and I am not where I want to be yet. And I must confess that I don't practice my Hebrew on a daily basis, so..
In matter of hours, and to encourage you to give it a shot, I'd say 20 hours are enough to make you familiar with them, and start writing a bit. So take it as 2 hours a day, for 10 days, and see if you'll not memorize them even before. :--)

And for the rest of you, for the sake of learning Hebrew: Write bilingually, and transliterate if possible! Gee! You frustrate me sometimes!
Enough showing off!

Thank you, Omri. I know, in Greek my name is "Didymus" - also the word "Twin", but in a different language.

Hahahaha, you have two posts, and then you have the mark of the beast (As Omri is now at 664 posts)

Considering he's a Jew, I guess he's not very worried about such Christian superstitions ;)

666 = 50 + 200 + 6 + 50 + 100 + 60 + 200

If we replace the numbers by the Hebrew letters of the same value we get:

נרון קסר

Nrwn Qsr = Nero Caesar = :praise:

Todah! Now that was way better. Transliteration would also be very appreciated. I am not asking for much, am I?
And 'hahaha' in Hebrew is hilarious. I suggest that you replace it with 'nnnnnnn'.

By the way, we need to write in a bigger size when in Hebrew.

Just a little advice... I'm not so sure it's a good idea to transliterate words in hebrew when learning them. Wouldn't it be better to use niqqud for that purpose? Even if you don't write the exact niqqud, very few israelis can write the right niqqud of every single word. We won't be asking that from you. But transliterating would make it all more difficult since you're used to the latin script, you'll have a hard time to remember if words are written with ע א, ת ט, ש ס

This is just an opinion :D

Mariam, would you suggest arabic learners to use transliteration?

No!

While knowing niqqud is very useful (e.g. when you're using a dictionary), I think the transliteration-based approach is much better. It speeds up reading and will enable you to read/learn undotted Hebrew much easily and faster.

Okay, okay, tiraga :P I don't know where's the sense in reading a language or learning it in a different alphabet. It sounds a bit ridiculous to me, I don't know... But take it easy Luís, you're too aggressive lately ;)

I don't have too much problem learning Hebrew using the latin alphabet, instead of having to learn a whole new set of marks (the niqqud)

A small question, anyone seen Omri lately? :?:
