He's busy at his new job. He's seldom online, not to say 'never'. I hope he can come back soon, but that depends on his schedule. He's missed around.
As for transliteration, I also think it helps for learning a new language. And when I say transliteration, I'd rather have the words written in IPA signs of course, to be more precise about how to pronounce words correctly, but as it's a lot of work, casual transliteration seems like a good solution.
Omri would rather vote for IPA, but for daily practise, I suggest casual transliteration, and IPA signs for special cases.
That said, I am not saying that we should learn foreign languages with transliteration only, I only say it helps.
And we use transliteration very often in the Arabic forum indeed. I started using IPA only lately.
Advanced learners don't need transliteration anymore. But then we post bilingually, still.
