German Translation Game

Postby modus.irrealis » 2013-06-06, 11:42

Since no one has started one of these here, I thought I would do it. The rules are simple. Someone posts a sentence in English and the next person has to translate it into German and provide the next sentence for translation. So to get us started:

"A person who has not studied German can form no idea of what a perplexing language it is."
-- Mark Twain

Money poisons you when you’ve got it, and starves you when you haven’t. (D.H. Lawrence, Lady Chatterley’s Lover)

The odd thing about people who had many books was how they always wanted more. (from Patricia A. McKillip, The Bell at Sealey Head)

I swear to god that duck is staring at us.
