Rasa wrote:Hey! And I have one great song by Skyforgers, only I didn't know the band until today. It's called "Migla migla rasa rasa (fog fog dew dew)" The first time I heard it on the midsummers's night somewhere in the woods :para: I was sitting on the grass with my friend Miglė watching rituals and listening to the songs. We thought, wow they have a special song for both of us - Miglė and Rasa (fog and dew)! And the atmosphere seemed to be magic - it was a starry night, a big fire in the middle, hundreds of torches around us, candles floating in the lake like stars in the sky and we were wearing wreaths of flowers and grass as usual that we made ourselves in the meadow :ohwell: so that's how I fell in love with this song.

Aw! These are the occasions why I love Nordic lands! (Nordic compared to Hungary)

Sveiki!
I have just heard about this song from my Estonian friends. They got to know that in Hungarian kurva means the same as in Latvian, so it reminded them about this Latvian song:

What are they exactly singing about? What is the message of the song? (I guess it's not simply saying "Fucking Estonians" if it means it at all)

Yeah, we have already discussed it in the Estonian forum. This is actually a parody and self-critics about Estonia not Latvia.

I think I once told you about this song (or we spoke about it somewhere in this forum). I don`t know what you mean by kurva being the same as in Hungarian because there is no such word in Latvian. Anyways it is not in Latvian, it is in Estonian and the way it sounds perhaps some Russian is mixed in, people say it means sad Estonian guy... always sounded to me as kurā purvā Eesti pois :P

Yes, guys check it out, if you are curious - viewtopic.php?f=53&t=25575 completed with translation of lyrics and discussion on ice cream. Probably should ask them why they think we have six toes as well (I have a theory on this - they actually call spaces next to toes toes, so that everyone else would think they got five fingers  )

Ah, because all the Estonians told me kurva means bitch in Latvian too, as well as everywhere in Eastern Europe.
So how do you say "bitch" in Latvian then?

Sry if it is a very old topic but yes, in Estonia some people think that kurva is a Latvian word. It is nor Estonian neither Russian word.

We have kurb; gen. kurva 'sad' and poiss is with double s. So the song would be "Kurb eesti poiss" ("Sad Estonian Boy").

But I guess all Estonians thought that this 'kurva' means the same in Latvian that it means in HU, CZ, SK or PL, so it's double misunderstanding.

Hi my Latvian friends!

I would need big help.

I look for two albums but since the language is not English because of this for me my very heavy thing.

Vējiem Līdzi - Nakts melodijas 2002
Vējiem Līdzi - Mūsu Nakts 1999

I look for it in the best quality ( Lossless) . I would buy it.

But a MP3 high-quality would give a big joy already.

Please help me!!!!!!!!

Best : Regards : Laci from Hungary
